Eye FAQs

At Moda we want to provide you with the right answers to your important questions. Review our most popular FAQs below, and contact us if we haven’t answered your questions.

How often should I get my eyes examined?

Eye exams are not just for the eye alone but a window to your overall health. Everyone should have an eye examination every 1-2 years, even if you don’t suspect any vision changes.

How do I make an appointment?

To make an eye exam appointment, please call the office at 905-309-6632 or fill out our online exam booking form.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, you do not need a referral from your doctor to see Dr. Marchionda. To make an eye exam appointment, please call the office at 905-309-6632 or fill out our online exam booking form.

What should I expect at my eye examination?

Your eye exam will begin with a thorough visual assessment, including binocular vision and visual processing and perception. We will also perform glaucoma testing with the blue light (and not the air puff), and a comprehensive front and back of the eye exam with and without drops depending.  We also offer digital retinal imaging to capture a snapshot of the retina so in the future we have a digital baseline, and Humphries visual field analyzer to assess the peripheral field of view.  Of course with different cases, additional tests not listed here are performed.

Does your practice offer direct billing to my insurance company?

We currently do not offer direct billing but most insurance companies have the forms online and pay the subscriber the next business day.
